President Joko Widodo appointed Muhamad Mardiono as the Presidential Special Envoy for Cooperation on Poverty Alleviation and Food Security at the State Palace in Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
Mardiono was appointed based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 48/M of 2022 concerning the Appointment of a Special Presidential Envoy for Cooperation on Poverty Alleviation and Food Security. On this occasion, President Jokowi took Mardiono’s oath of office.
“I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will implement all laws and regulations as strictly as possible, for the sake of my service to the nation and state. That I, in carrying out my duties, will uphold ethics of office, work as well as possible, and with full sense of responsibility,” said the President dictating fragments of the oath of office.
The inauguration ceremony ended with congratulation by President Joko Widodo which was then followed by the invitees who attended.
In his statement after the inauguration, Mardiono said that his job was to coordinate, synchronize and control government programs, especially in the areas of poverty alleviation and increasing food security. Therefore, he will try to carry out the mandated tasks properly in order to achieve the set agenda of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
“I was entrusted with overseeing and ensuring that government programs for achieving the first SDGs, namely poverty alleviation and the second SDGs, namely food security, can run well,” he said.
Also present at the inauguration ceremony were Chairperson of the Lanyalla Regional Representative Council Mahmud Mattalitti, Chairperson of the Audit Board Isma Yatun, Chief Justice Syarifuddin, Chief Justice Anwar Usman, Chairperson of the Judicial Commission Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Chairman/Member of the Presidential Advisory Council Wiranto.
