President Jokowi: “Diversity is Indonesia’s Great Wealth”

GLOBAL INVESTIGASI NEWS – KALBAR, President Joko Widodo inaugurated the opening of the Bahaupm Bide Bahana Tariu Borneo Bangkule Rajakng (TBBR) which was held at the Radakng Traditional House, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, on Tuesday, 29 November 2022. During his remarks, President Jokowi emphasized that ethnic diversity is a major strength for Indonesia.

“Differences are not divisive, differences are strengths, differences are not weakening, but strengthening. So don’t let it be because we are of different ethnicities, different sub-tribes, that it seems divided,” said the President.

The President explained that Indonesia is a large country with a variety of tribes reaching 714 tribes, including the Dayak tribe which has 406 sub-tribes within it. The Head of State also encouraged the Indonesian people to maintain and care for the culture of each region.

“Don’t forget about culture, don’t forget about culture. We have to take care of it together, take care of it together, jointly maintain it so that our culture is well maintained,” he continued.

In addition, the President also asked that all people from various ethnic groups in the country participate in maintaining the stability of the country’s security. Moreover, next year Indonesia will enter a political year.

“We are of various tribes, there are so many 714 tribes that there should not be friction in the political year. Everything must maintain security stability, this country must be safe, so that the government can maintain and increase all of our economic growth,” he added.

On this occasion, President Jokowi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support from the people of Kalimantan, especially the Dayak tribe, for the development of the Archipelago’s Capital City (IKN). According to the President, the support from the people of Kalimantan for the construction of the IKN is really needed by the government.

“I express my highest gratitude and appreciation for the support given by the people of Kalimantan, especially from the Dayak tribe for the development of the Archipelago’s Capital City in Kalimantan,” said the President.

Accompanying the President in this activity were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Governor of West Kalimantan Sutarmidji, and Mayor of Pontianak Edi Rusdi Kamtono.
