President Joko Widodo received a visit from members of the United States congress on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. “So tomorrow there will be a visit to IKN Nusantara,” said Retno.

Accompanying the President in the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi and Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya. While members of the United States congress present were Senator Jeff Merkley, Senator Chris Van Hollen, Representative Lloyd Doggett, Representative Praila Jayapal, Representative Ilhan Omar, United States Ambassador to Indonesia Sung Yong Kim, and Mission Director of USAID Jeffery Cohen.
