After traveling for approximately 15 hours, the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft carrying President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo and their entourage arrived at Hannover Airport, Hannover, Germany, on Saturday, April 15 2023, at around 20.25 local time.
After the plane came to a complete stop, the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno was seen boarding the plane to welcome the President and Mrs. Iriana on board. Then the Director of Protocol for the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Daniela Vogl accompanied the President and Mrs. Iriana down the plane stairs.
Under the plane’s stairs, the Head of Protocol for the State of Lower Saxony, Matthias Woiwode, the wife of the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany, Sartika Oegroseno, and the Indonesian Defense Attache, Colonel Budi Wibowo, and his wife also welcomed them.
Next, the President and Mrs. Iriana and their entourage headed straight to the hotel where they spent the night during their visit to Hannover. Upon arrival, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita appeared to welcome them who had arrived earlier.
In Hannover, President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the Hannover Messe 2023. Apart from that, the President is also scheduled to meet with the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz to hold a bilateral meeting.
