Winter weather with temperatures of minus 1 degree Celsius welcomed the arrival of President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo in Brussels, Belgium. After taking a flight of around 15 hours from Indonesia, the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft carrying the President and the delegation arrived at Abelag Airport, Brussels at around 18.00 local time, Tuesday, December 13 2022.
Seemingly welcoming under the steps of the plane were Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs official Anne Vandormael, European Council official Simona Nikiforova, Indonesian LBBP Ambassador Brussels Andri Hadi and his wife, and Defense Attache at the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague accredited to Belgium and Luxembourg Muhamad Wirda Prayogo and his wife.
President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana then headed to the hotel where they spent the night in Brussels to then continue their working visit agenda following the 45th Anniversary Summit of ASEAN-EU tomorrow.
Upon arrival at the hotel where they spent the night, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana were greeted by dozens of Indonesian citizens who were waiting for the presence of the President and Mrs. Iriana.
Accompanying President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana during their visit this time were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno. Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita were in Brussels to attend a meeting in the series of the ASEAN-EU Summit and prepare for President Jokowi’s visit.
